Work on using digital technology to support elderly care – and to make the day simpler for care recipients and staff alike. Rather than individual products, the goal was a coherent digital environment.
Welfare technology is often bought as separate products: an alarm here, a sensor there, a communication solution alongside. Each may work well on its own, but together they become more systems for staff to keep track of.
The challenge was making the technology hang together – and making it genuinely useful in the actual care work, rather than technology for its own sake.
The work centred on bringing several forms of welfare technology and digital services into a more coherent environment.
The digital assistant Lilly formed part of the wider solution environment.
The project shows how technology, IoT and integration can solve practical problems for real users in an important public service.
It is also perhaps the project that sums up the whole Myfront idea most clearly: smart solutions, simpler days.
